Why did you choose this name?
The name was chosen because of what it represents to the Maya. According to a Guatemalan legend called The Hummingbird King, there was a boy prince who was heir to his father’s throne. Throughout his young life, a hummingbird looks out for his welfare, protects him, and warns him of impending danger. We chose Casa Colibrà because we wanted our name to suggest protection and refuge, a place where people can go for help and know that they will be met with kindness.
