Village health promoters were trained in how to diagnose and manage common illnesses, wound care and suturing, and neonatal resuscitation during a two-day course. Two groups of 25 VHPs received instruction and equipment to help them do their jobs more effectively.
Participants learn to suture wounds, practicing on chicken skin. Health promoters receive a copy of Donde no hay doctor VHPs are eager to learn new information. VHPs learn to take vital signs.
Trainees learn how to recognize an ear infection. Suctioning a newborn is a critical skill. VHPs taught to resuscitate newborns Newly trained and eager to use their new skills!
